The South Main Center Association (SMCA), now named the South Main Alliance, was designated as a Transportation Management Organization (TMO) that is now named Houston’s H.E.A.R.T.^TM Access & Mobility Center.

Purposes: Our Access & Mobility Center has two primary purposes:

• advocating for stakeholders in the greater Texas Medical Center area for needed transportation access and mobility enhancements from Metro, the Houston Public Works Department, the Texas Department of Transportation and other government agencies and
• assisting area employers and attractions expand travel options for employees and customers by setting up travel information networks and marketing commuter options.

Governance:  In order to minimize administrative costs and to take advantage of a nearly 30-year operating history, South Main Alliance has been designated as the TMO. No new layer of management has been created. South Main Alliance partner members govern the TMO. South Main Alliance staff provide TMO program services.
