There are five major access routes from the west.
Using Bissonnet Blvd. - Bissonnet St. provides direct access to the Museum District and Hermann Park. You can reach Bissonnet St. by exiting US-59 at Kirby Dr. or Greenbriar/Shephard going south. You will quickly come to Bissonnet St. and then turn left. When you reach Montrose Blvd. turn right to reach the circle at Mecom Fountain and Hermann Park. Continue on Bissonnet St. to go past the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the other museums.
Using Rice Blvd. - Rice Blvd. provides direct access to Rice University. You can reach Rice Blvd. by exiting US-59 at Kirby Dr. or Greenbriar/Shephard going south. When you reach Rice Blvd. turn left.
Using University Blvd. - University Blvd. provides direct access to the Texas Medical Center. You can reach University Blvd. by exiting US-59 at Kirby Dr. or Greenbriar/Shephard going south. When you reach University Blvd. turn left.
You can also access University Blvd. by exiting I-610 South at Kirby Dr. or Buffalo Speedway going north. When you reach University Blvd. turn right to the Texas Medical Center.
Using Holcombe Blvd. - Holcombe Blvd. provides good access to the south end of the Texas Medical Center’s main campus. You can reach Holcombe Blvd. by exiting US-59 (and going south) or I-610 South at Kirby Dr. and then traveling north. When you reach Holcombe Blvd., turn east.
Using Braeswood Blvd. - Braeswood Blvd. is a winding street with the east and west bound sides separated by Brays Bayou and connected by bridges at major cross streets. It provides access to the south end of the Texas Medical Center’s main campus |
