METRO provides extensive and inexpensive transit service to many locations in the area.

  • Transit fares range from $1 for local service to $3.50 for long distance trips.
  • Discounts are available through a variety of pass programs. 
  • METRO buses accept dollar bills, coins, tokens and a variety of passes. Exact change is required; transfers and local route day passes are available.

Texas Medical Center:

  • METRO Transit: Access information regarding the many transit bus routes serving the Texas Medical Center and connecting with METRORail.
  • The Red, White and Blue Shuttles serve a variety of parking lots, Universities, Medical Centers and Hospitals. Use the shuttle service to travel to, through and from the Texas Medical Center with ease.
  • The Texas Medical Center Campus Trolley serves the Texas Medical Center Transit Center, Bertner to John Freeman to North MacGregor to Lamar Fleming to Moursand and back to the Transit Center. The trolley costs $1 and runs every 10-15 minutes 6 am to 6 pm.

Hermann Park: Visiting Hermann Park is easy! Simply hop on one of many METRO buses serving the park including route numbers 1, 4, 8, 15, 34, 58, 291, or 292. 

Miller Outdoor Theater: Inside Hermann Park, the Miller Outdoor Theater is served by a variety of nearby METRO bus routes including 8, 26, 27, 65, 68, and 73.

Rice University: Students, staff and faculty of Rice University can take advantage of the University sponsored shuttle buses that circle the Inner Loop and connect the Graduate Apartments, Media Center, Stadium, Annex building and Greenbriar facility to the rest of the campus. Lift-equipped buses are available. Visitors and commuters to the University can access the campus via bus routes such as: METRO 170, 1, 65, 70, 291 and 292.

Reliant Park: Accessing Reliant Park via METRORail is recommended. Transfer to METRORail from a variety of bus routes and exit the Reliant Park Station. For additional information click here.
